Viv Sutherland is latest senior hiring at Genoa Strategy

The Genoa Black Group is delighted to announce Viv Sutherland has joined its strategic division as Strategy Director. A key part of the company’s growth strategy, Viv will help drive Genoa Strategy forward in its first year and will be responsible for leading the UK domestic portfolio.

Head of Genoa Strategy, Rob Potter, says

“This appointment comes at a pivotal moment for the fir, and only four months after the formal launch of Genoa Strategy. The introduction of a new Strategy Director is an important step as we look to build on our strong performance over the last year. Viv will help drive business development and keep the all-important sales pipeline fresh. She is a great addition to my team.”

Viv’s expertise spans the UK and across the globe, for firms including Hewlett Packard, Scottish Widows, Lloyds TSB and Matalan. She brings a broad range of international experience across strategy, marketing, sales, business development, commercial positioning and operational roles. And latterly, her work at Morris & Spottiswood, where she led a full brand and strategic repositioning for them and their associated companies, is particularly relevant. Her impressive leadership skills have been demonstrated through the creation and delivery of successful growth strategies, change management programs, market pivots, strategic alliances and acquisitions.

Viv Sutherland, Strategy Director, says:

“It’s an exciting time to be joining Genoa Strategy and to be part of its ambitious long-term growth planning. The company is perfectly positioned to help businesses transform their performance, whether that requires a new business strategy, sales planning, or a pivot strategy to get back on track. I’m relishing the opportunity to work with such a passionate team of strategists.”

Managing Partner, Gaynor Duthie, welcomes Viv’s expertise to the team, highlighting that her broad sector knowledge across finance, construction, retail, health and leisure, will be of benefit to clients across the board. She indicates that Viv’s leadership expertise will also mean valuable input to the key areas of innovation, strategic partnerships and talent.

Gaynor Duthie says:

“We are making serious investment in shaping our team for success in the years ahead, and Viv’s skillset and expertise complement the existing team perfectly. Not only that, but her straight-talking approach is also a perfect match for the close and trusted client relationships that have been key to our business success.”
